Moldova Mission Network’s Family Ministry
The Marriage Course
The Marriage Ministry in Moldova was started in 2008 by the National Presbyterian Church (Washington, DC) in response to Moldovan requests for help in strengthening marriages.
The ministry is supported through the Moldova Baptist Union but is open to people of any denomination, and non-believers are especially welcome. Ministry Country Directors Slavic and Alla Verenciuc and their assistants work with Russian- and Romanian-speaking churches, and have even served congregations in Transnistria and Ukraine. The Marriage Ministry also holds family conferences, as well as tent meetings in the summer for villages. At the tent meetings, there are programs for children, as well sessions for husbands and wives separately, along with the usual course sessions for couples.
From 2008-2025, approximately 800 couples have completed the course. Testimonies from the experience have been uniformly positive, such as “Thank you very much for The Marriage Course! This is a big blessing for our church” and “Thank you for this practical training. For my family, this is a reminder and a wonderful opportunity to examine our own relationships.”
